Client's Vision

As part of Interior Design Show 2024, meLo was envisioned as a speculative yet tangible prototype, an invitation to rethink the role of the office in supporting employee wellness. Our goal was to explore how space can nurture emotional, mental, and physical restoration while aligning with the future of work.

Design Strategy

meLo’s design journey began with the senses. We imagined a workplace that doesn't just accommodate tasks but heals, inspires, and connects. The exhibit blended biophilic materials, ambient lighting, scent, and sound to create layered environments of calm and clarity. Nature and technology were not in opposition, but in conversation.

Key Challenge

How do you create a restorative environment in a format as temporary and high-pressure as a design show exhibit? We needed to compress complex ideas; neuroscience, sustainability, and multi-sensory design into a tactile, digestible experience. We also challenged ourselves to resist the aesthetic of over-performance, instead opting for elegance, softness, and subtlety.

Our Solution

meLo reimagines the workplace as a hub of well-being and support. This space accentuates the multifaceted approach to wellness in our built environment, harmonizing technology, nature, and restoration to create a transformative office experience. The project provides an immersive experiential journey, showcasing the importance of environmental and emotional responsibility through binaural lighting, scents, sound, and textures, all while striking a balance between technology and nature. The result is an inclusive ecosystem, fostering personal growth and creativity, where the personal and social can intermingle.
